2016 Combined State Plan
View the 2016 Combined State Plan
Under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), the Governor of each state must submit a Unified or Combined State Plan to the U.S. Secretary of Labor (USDOL) that outlines a four-year workforce development strategy for the state’s workforce development system. The four-year plans take effect July 1, 2016, and will be submitted by April 1, 2016.
With a common-sense approach and a business-centric focus, Ohio is making important reforms to the workforce system. These reforms will help businesses find the workers they need and help workers find good careers, earn sustainable wages and support their families. In partnership with local providers and stakeholders, the state of Ohio has made much progress toward achieving these reforms.
The 2016 Combined State Plan details the state’s successes and vision for Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth (WIOA Title I), Adult Education and Family Literacy (Title II), Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education, and Senior Community Service Employment. The 2016 Combined Plan adds reforms to Wagner-Peyser (Title III), Vocational Rehabilitation (Title IV), and Jobs for Veterans State Grant.
The 2016 Combined State Plan public hearings were held on the following dates and times. Stakeholders had an opportunity to comment in person at one of five regional hearings. All stakeholders registered to comment were required to arrive and sign in within the first 30 minutes of the start of the hearing.
