The deaf are often overlooked in the discussion of employment rates for the disabled because they have what one advocate calls “the invisible disability.”

Although the pandemic has brought a slight uptick in employment opportunities for the deaf, national statistics still show that a greater percentage of deaf people are unemployed than hearing people.
