Programs & Partnerships
OOD’s Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired, Division of Employer and Innovation Services, and Division of Disability Determination partner with nonprofits, schools, businesses, other public organizations, and more to:
- Help individuals with disabilities find and keep jobs
- Prepare students with disabilities for the world of work and the next steps after graduation
- Serve individuals with developmental disabilities through Employment First
- Help college students with disabilities through Ohio College2Careers, offering the support they need to complete their degree and/or credential and meet the demands of tomorrow's labor market
- Assist Business Enterprise Operators, who are legally blind, in their entrepreneurial careers in vending services
- Offer the Ohio Vocational Apprentice Program so that students and adults with disabilities gain valuable work experience and access to state government employment through paid apprenticeships
- Provide employment support for individuals served through certified specialized dockets through OOD Jobs for Recovery
- Process applications made to the Social Security Administration for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
