Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is the state agency that empowers Ohioans with disabilities through employment, disability determinations, and independence. This empowerment is accomplished through our Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR), Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired (BSVI) and Division of Disability Determination (DDD). Our Division of Employer and Innovation Services (EIS) also plays an important role by establishing and maintaining partnerships with employers.
The Council of State Governments (CSG) published a piece about how Governor DeWine has made recovery support a top priority., including OOD Jobs for Recovery.
Throughout the pandemic, Ohio has worked in partnership with communities to increase access to at-home rapid COVID-19 testing. Ohioans who are blind or have low vision face challenges to independently take at-home COVID-19 tests, a critical step in protecting themselves and their loved ones from the harmful impacts of COVID-19.
This Project SEARCH, which operates out of OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital, serves students with disabilities and includes Tri-County Career Center, OOD, and Capabilities.
