The three American Sign Language interpreters at the state’s daily coronavirus press conferences keep Ohio’s 303,000 deaf and hard of hearing people informed, but they’ve also become a bit of a social media phenomenon with people tuning in to the updates just to see the interpreters.
Disability Law Aims for Safer Law Enforcement Interactions
The Communication Disability Law allows individuals to inform law enforcement of any communication disabilities through a database. The program aims to increase safety and understanding when law enforcement interact with individuals with communication disabilities.
